There's something quietly satisfying about mending instead of replacing — a small act of care that turns a worn-through elbow or a moth-nipped hem into something worth keeping. This 1.5-hour workshop is a hands-on introduction to darning on a small wooden loom, one of the easiest and most forgiving ways to learn visible mending.
You'll start on a practice piece of scrap fabric, learning to warp your loom and build up a woven patch stitch by stitch. Once you've got the rhythm, you'll move on to a garment of your own — bring along that jumper, sock, or shirt that's been waiting for a second life. We'll supply embroidery threads, scrap yarn, needles and practice fabric; you supply the story behind whatever you bring in to mend.
No experience needed, just curious hands. You'll leave with a finished (or well-started) repair, a new skill, and your own darning loom to take home and keep mending with.
